A Tribute to President Musharraf

Musharraf’s Vision for a Prosperous Pakistan

“Following is an article by President Pervez Musharraf. He wrote this article in 2004. This article is reproduced to show President’s commitment to Pakistan and its people. He has consistently followed his policies against all odds. He will continue to do so. He never allowed loot nor he will allow in future. Those who feel that he is facing all criticism on him and they are free to resort to any uncivilized behaviour against him as he has no option. They all including some media tycoons live in fool’s paradise. Those who know Musharraf, know it with absolute clarity that he is the most tolerant to any criticism on his person. But he is the most intolerant when solidarity and prestige of the state and its peopel is at stake.”

Commercial banks and other financial institutions became instruments of political patronage and profit for favored cronies. The gross mismanagement of public sector enterprises like the Water & Power Development Authority, the Karachi. Electric Supply Corporation, the railways, Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and Pakistan International Airlines added further to the problems. The freezing of foreign currency accounts shattered the confidence of investors and expatriate Pakistanis in the financial management of the country. (more…)
