ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Aitzaz Ahsan has once again tried to fool the whole nation by stating that only six lawyers are appearing in Court proceedings before PCO Judges.

He made these remarks in a live discussion between Justice (Rtd) Abdul Qayyum Malik Attorney General of Pakistan and Aitzaz Ahsan in Hamid Mir’s program Capital Talk today, Mar. 19, 2008.
I fail to understand why Aitzaz Ahsan keeps on lying and lying.

Is he a lawyer or a liar? more…

Defending Pakistan’s Musharraf

By PARVEZ AMIN

LAHORE, Pakistan—I understand Musharraf’s critics. I feel the pain that many Pakistanis feel when they talk about where President Musharraf went wrong. But I ask you to step back and see if the events can be put into a fairer perspective. more…

We, the Patriot Pakistanis, ask President Musharraf not to give up to the criminals who looted this country ruthlessly in the past and are ready to do it yet again. We request His Excellency Mr. President to keep his morale up and find trustable and honorable allies to be his right hand and stay in power because, Mr. President, at the end of the day, Pakistan needs you.

LAHORE, Pakistan—President Pervez Musharraf, one of the finest leaders Pakistan has produced in recent times, has shocked patriot Pakistanis all around the world by hinting that he may go after the general election if the politicians went hostile on him.

We are all deeply touched and fear a gloomy future for our great homeland, Pakistan, in the hands of corrupt, power hungry and reckless politicians. I can empathize with the way President Musharraf might be feeling right now at the outright betrayal to his services by the enemies of the state and the silence of a majority of Pakistanis on this. more…

Everyone is politicking – small men squabbling over small slices of a very small cake. No one is thinking of Pakistan. In fact, the country is not even on their radar screens. I asked the question Dawn on Sunset? in an article of that name after the elections. I’ve got my answer now. “When small men begin to cast long shadows, it is a sure sign that the sun is setting.”

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—It’s a Catch-22 galore for Asif, the sudden great leader Z. If AZ partners with N and forms a government called ANZ, he is in danger of losing America. If he goes with Q (which America wants him to) he is in danger of losing popular support, because Q are the very people they voted to get out, not for him to bring them back in. Likewise, Q will balk at joining its sworn enemy for fear of damaging its own support base.

Musharaf, U.S., and Pakistan

By MUHAMMAD HAFEEZ, PhD

LAHORE, Pakistan—It is generally believed that the United States is continuously and persistently supporting President Pervez Musharraf to keep him working as the president of Pakistan. This is false.America did support Musharraf as long as the U.S. perceived that its interests were actively being served by him and Pakistan.

The situation has changed over the last three years. Since then, the U.S. wanted change in the government in Islamabad but the incumbent government successfully hanged on and sustained the American pressure effectively. Several intrigues were witnessed in the recent years and the most significant conspiracy involved the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Pakistan passed through that subversion. The support from the U.S. recently started dwindling as our services to them became contradictive to the emerging national interest of Pakistan. more…
